Professional Development

The Afterschool and Summer Learning Resource Center offers multiple training opportunities for both program leaders and their staff.  Center staff and consultants are also available to develop a specialized staff development plan for your program. 

Training or Development Initiatives include:

  • Framing the Future: A Think Tank on Afterschool & Summer Learning  
  • "Conversation for Collaboration" among local afterschool organizations
  • Lunch-and-Learn series for program directors/assistant directors
  • Mentor coaching for program staff
  • Training on 21st Century Learning skills for enrichment providers

Program Design & Improvement

The Afterschool and Summer Learning Resource Center is committed to elevating expanded learning spaces by enhancing existing programs and providing frameworks for new programs to launch successfully. 

Center staff and consultants are available to assist with program or curriculum development and enhancement in the following areas:  arts integration, STEM and STEAM, culturally relevant based learning, and social and emotional learning

Program Evaluation

Quality program improvement can be directly linked to program evaluation.  Therefore, the Afterschool and Summer Learning Resource Center offers both consultative and program evaluation services.  Additionally, the Center’s research team can assist with survey design, data collection, data analysis and reporting. 

Evaluation services can include both qualitative and quantitative evaluation measures that will assist program providers with understanding their effectiveness, ultimately providing valuable data for programmatic improvement.
