EHHP Research and Development Support

Applications are reviewed on the 1st and 15th of each month (beginning July 1; final review is May 15)

WHAT IS EHHP RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT?

EHHP Research and Development Support is a supplemental source of funding to help cover the cost of eligible professional and leadership development experiences. Access to the pool of funds is limited to EHHP faculty, staff, and students who have exhausted all other available departmental and institutional funding. This funding program is a collaborative initiative--the pool is comprised of monies contributed by multiple budget lines within EHHP; the application is administered by the Center for Partnerships to Improve Education; and the funds are managed by the EHHP Business Manager. Applications are considered by a committee made up of a cross-section of EHHP representatives.

WHO CAN APPLY?

EHHP faculty, staff, and students are eligible to apply for funds to support professional and leadership development experiences related to their expertise, job responsibilities, and/or studies. Visiting faculty are eligible to apply, however adjunct faculty are not.

HOW CAN THE FUNDS BE USED?

Approved experiences include (a) presenting scholarly work, (b) conducting research, (c) developing a grant proposal (of at least $100,000), or (d) receiving specialized training.

Awarded funds are intended to be supplemental, therefore the committee has established the following funding limits:

For Faculty

  • Requests are limited to 25% of the total project budget
  • Requests for summer stipends must include costs associated with fringe benefits
  • Individual faculty members are limited to one grant award per academic year

For Students

  • Requests are limited to 50% of the total project budget
  • Requests for travel must be made at least one month prior to travel dates

For Staff

  • Requests are limited to 50% of the total project budget
